How often should eyebolts be tested?

Usual testing periods are 6 months, unless the eyebolts are installed as part of a fall arrest system where the testing period is annual. Eyebolts are installed onto the sides of building for abseil access for window cleaning, repairs and any other reasons for the exterior of the building to be examined. The regulation covering this area is BS 7883:2005. The eyebolt can be installed directly into brickwork, concrete or the steelworks of the building in order for ropes and anchors to be affixed by staff who are working at height.
