Any structure in an open landscape and being attended by a large number of people should be protected against a possible lightning strike. Any tent or marque and its liners should be made from fire retardant material and meet the relevant BSEN or the equivalent International Standards.
Care should be taken in planning the seating and table arrangements, with doors and exits being clearly signed, kept clear of obstruction and ramps being provided if necessary. Also Attendants / Staff should be familiar with a fire and evacuation drill.
