Eyebolt Testing

Safety eyebolts are designed to absolutely minimise the danger when working at height where an operative has to attach to the eyebolts via a fall arrest or restraint harness.

As part of Bacon Groups specialist high level maintenance works, eyebolt testing has become an important part of ensuring absolute safety at all times.

This is our company mandate, and part of what the Bacon Group stands for but also increasingly requested from our extensive client base. Clients who are becoming very aware of their Health & Safety responsibilities and the need for all commercial eyebolts to be tested at least annually to stay within the health and safety guide lines and working at height regulations. Abseiling eyebolts need testing at least every 6 months, this is the only sensible protocol to ensure safe working.

We conduct work nationwide and also abroad from clients that demand this high level of industry standard; It is this criteriathat dictates the selection of equipment that we employ for eyebolt testing, the latest in Hydrajaws technology load testing equipment is used.

In should be noted that all Window Cleaning Fall arrest eyebolts must be tested every 12 months to keep in date. If the eyebolts are no longer used they will need to be removed or clearly tagged as NOT IN USE.

Rope access eyebolts must be tested every 6 months if they are in use. Clear test tags must be displayed of the last test date and all test equipment is calibrated annually and a certificate of conformity is always issued for client reference.

The Operatives who use equipment designed for load testing are qualified and trained specifically. All sites tested by our teams receive a certificate of testing and site survey accompanied by a copy of the calibration certificate of the equipment used.
